چکیده
Abstract This paper presents a study of compressed thin-walled composite columns with an open cross-section. The tested specimens top-hat cross-section were made CFRP material. Two arrangements layers [0/-45/45/90]s and [90/0/90/0]s compared. focuses on the buckling phenomenon determination critical loads structure. It includes both numerical analyses using finite element method (FEM) validation real autoclave technique. A comparison is between results obtained by methods. forces determined P-wc3 approximation method. Both evaluation shape values showed significant correlation experimental tests. also compares lay-ups.

Experimental Investigations into the Collapse of Simple and Reinforced Thin-Walled Channel Beams under Bending Loads
In this paper, collapse behavior of simple and reinforced thin-walled channel- section beams, subjected to three- point bending, is investigated. Many simple channel- section beams of different geometry and some reinforced ones were tested, and their strengths after collapse were obtained thoroughly. Since the available theories in this area are complicated and little attention has been paid to...

متن کاملFolding of Thin-Walled Composite Structures with a Soft Matrix
The paper presents detailed micromechanical finite element simulations of composite materials with soft materials undergoing large macroscopic bending deformation. The simulations allow the study of fibre microbuckling under bending, including the kinematics of the fibres, as well as the strains in the matrix. These simulations lead to a simple analytical model that allows a quite accurate esti...
متن کاملLinear Models for Composite Thin-Walled Beams by Γ-Convergence. Part I: Open Cross Sections
We consider a beam whose cross-section is a tubular neighborhood, with thickness scaling with a parameter δε, of a simple curve γ whose length scales with ε. To model a thin-walled beam we assume that δε goes to zero faster than ε, and we measure the rate of convergence by a slenderness parameter s which is the ratio between ε2 and δε. In this Part I of the work we focus on the case where the c...
متن کاملLinear Models for Composite Thin-Walled Beams by Γ-Convergence. Part II: Closed Cross-Sections
We consider a beam whose cross-section is a tubular neighborhood of a simple closed curve γ. We assume that the wall thickness, i.e., the size of the neighborhood, scales with a parameter δε while the length of γ scales with ε. We characterize a thin-walled beam by assuming that δε goes to zero faster than ε. Starting from the three dimensional linear theory of elasticity, by letting ε go to ze...
